Composites of Cysteamine Functionalised Graphene Oxide and Polypropylene

چکیده

Abstract Cysteamine functionalised reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was grafted to polypropylene-graft-maleic anhydride (PP-g-MA) and subsequently melt blended with PP. The covalent bridging of rGO PP-g-MA via the cysteamine molecule co-crystallization are routes promoting interfacial interactions between PP matrix. A rheological percolation threshold achieved for a nanofiller loading 3 wt% 5 wt%, but none detected composites prepared un-functionalized rGO. At low loadings (0.1 wt%), functionalized is well dispersed in matrix, an interconnecting filler-filler, polymer-filler polymer-polymer network formed, resulting increased tensile toughness (1 500%) elongation at break (40%) relative neat Irrespective whether or not, it had significant effect on crystallization behavior PP, inducing heterogeneous nucleation, increasing crystallisation temperature (T m ) by up 10°C decreasing crystalline content (X c ∼30% highest (5 wt%) filler loading. growth monoclinic a-phase preferred addition b crystal suppressed.

Polypropylene/Graphene and Polypropylene/Carbon Fiber Conductive Composites: Mechanical, Crystallization and Electromagnetic Properties

This study aims to examine the properties of composites that different carbon materials with different measurements can reinforce. Using a melt compounding method, this study combines polypropylene (PP) and graphene nano-sheets (GNs) or carbon fiber (CF) to make PP/GNs and PP/CF conductive composites, respectively. The DSC results and optical microscopic observation show that both GNs and CF en...

Synthesis of double-clickable functionalised graphene oxide for biological applications.

Azide- and alkyne-double functionalised graphene oxide (Click(2) GO) was synthesised and characterised with attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Raman spectroscopy. Fourteen-percentage increase in azide content was found, after pre-treatment of GO with meta-chloroperoxybenzoic acid (mCPBA), determined with elementa...

Enhancement in Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Polypropylene Using Graphene Oxide Grafted with End-Functionalized Polypropylene

Terminally hydroxylated polypropylene (PP) synthesized by a chain transfer method was grafted to graphene oxide (GO) at the chain end. Thus obtained PP-modified GO (PP-GO) was melt mixed with PP without the use of a compatibilizer to prepare PP/GO nanocomposites. Mechanical and electrical properties of the resultant nanocomposites and reference samples that contained graphite nanoplatelets, par...

High Performance Graphene Oxide Based Rubber Composites

In this paper, graphene oxide/styrene-butadiene rubber (GO/SBR) composites with complete exfoliation of GO sheets were prepared by aqueous-phase mixing of GO colloid with SBR latex and a small loading of butadiene-styrene-vinyl-pyridine rubber (VPR) latex, followed by their co-coagulation. During co-coagulation, VPR not only plays a key role in the prevention of aggregation of GO sheets but als...

Transparent, luminescent, antibacterial and patternable film forming composites of graphene oxide/reduced graphene oxide.

Multifunctional graphene oxide/reduced graphene oxide (GO/RGO) composites were prepared through electrostatic interaction using biocompatible ingredients. Different functionalities were added to GO/RGO by anchoring materials such as native lactoferrin (NLf), NLf protected Au clusters (designated as Au@NLf), chitosan (Ch) and combinations thereof. Anchoring of Ch and NLf enhances the antibacteri...
